Artist description
A finely tuned mixture of melody and death. Music rangeing from 12 string acoustic and dumbec rhythms to an all out assult of driving beats that make you want to get in the pit. Very heavy in style and emotion, the music is not centered around "virtuoso" guitar solo's, it is more geared towards invoking feelings and making a point to the listeners. The content of the lyrics is as widely diverse as the music that supports it, themes ranging from Saving the planet from destruction, The falicy of Christianity and organized religion, to the mythos of ancient gods and their wars, to spirits occupying insane minds. Sinister Creed is a band unincumbered by the need to create commercial music, so the end result is pure metal, honest, from the heart music that anyone who enjoys rock and roll will find something the like about SINISTER CREED. |

Artist History
Sinister Creed has been playing for 13 years. Located in Colorado Springs. They started as a 3 member band and played that way for years, until the bass player left and was replaced and a 2nd guitarist was added to finalize the sound they wanted. Practicing 2 & 3 times a week fro 13 years has defined their music and has made them a rock solid "tight" band. not afraid to diversify and change. |

Press Reviews
Pit Magazine, November 2000 issue #33SINISTER CREED - Divine Lies - Independent Release Mixing everything from thrash to death metal to the occasional melodic black metal influence, this bass laden debut album from Colorado Springs' SINISTER CREED is definitely worth checking out. With intense overdubbed vocals and excellent musicianship, Divine Lies rises above not only the Colorado scene, but above most other bands that attempt this nearly forgotten style of mid-paced death metal. Combining the influences of early SLAYER and perhaps even some early DEATH, SINISTER CREED creates a sound wholly unique in today's drab death scene of DYING FETUS rip-offs. Surprisingly, this mixture, in the hands of SINISTER CREED, creates an almost triumphant sounding death metal album, yet at the same time retains its brutality and originality. Coming to a climax at nearly the final song, "When We as Gods" explores the realm of stringed instruments in its intro and is definitely, lyrically and musically, the defining song of the album. One of the very few remaining bands in this vein of death metal, SINISTER CREED has taken the genre to a new level.- Karl Deiotte, Pit Magazinepitmag@aol.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Gazette Telegraph, 09/29/2000After hearing them play live for nearly two years, fans of local death metal band Sinister Creed have a CD to take home. But just because the music was recorded doesn't mean it lost its live flair. The album is not for the faint of heart. Macabre themes include the wretched perils of surviving a nuclear holocaust, dead spirits wandering the earth and the destruction of the planet. The dark lyrics weave intersting stories in a mythical tone.Musically the album is strong, with a raw energy, yet still polished sound, Throbbing bass lines, screeching guitar riffs and screaming demon vocals mingle surprisingly well with melodic, rock oprea-esque guitar solos. Songs like "The Servant" and "Envy The Dead" take the listener on an unexpected journey of sound.- Tayna Belltbell@gazette.com |
