Artist description Formed in late summer of 1996 out of Stamford, Connecticut, Sicboy is a band striving to be original, in a period of music that begs to differ. Signed to Attack Records and Filmworks, Toronto Canada, with North American distribution in place , Sicboy recently wrapped up recording their debut album 'Artificial Flavors'. The Album hit stores October 2000. Sicboy is presently working independently on new music for future recordings.

Artist History Their style of music is tough to describe, because of their broad range of influences. Influences that encompass the music spectrums of classical music to hardcore, and artists like Portishead, Tool, Radiohead, the deftones, and Helmet. They liken their sound to be diverse, and they achieve it by blending the best of many worlds. With ambient to crunching guitar, a rhythm section that is looking to define the Sicboy sound with its low melodic hooking vibes, and rounded out by subdued, melodic, dissonant, and sometimes distressed vocals. Their goal is to make music at a level at which they can reach a wide range of people. They feel their music can be a breath of fresh air to an industry that needs to be relieved from the gasping chokehold that radio friendly “music” seems to have on it. And they’re damn ready to place Stamford, CT. on the map of music history. Sicboy is very optimistic about their future and what’s in store for them. The band has also heavily promoted themselves via the Internet and other avenues, developing quite a following in the process and establishing contact with bands such as Korn, the deftones, and others. They plan to continue working relentlessly to take their music somewhere.
