Artist description
Riversoul is a melding of electronic, ambient, and industrial styles. I try to craft songs that are not only artistic but also fun to listen to. I focus on developing a sense of melody, movement, and emotion through careful arrangement, counterpoint, and a little dementia (forgive me ;-) You'll find a variety of styles blending together into something (hopefully) original. I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I've enjoyed writing them. |

Artist History
Riversoul is an electronic/ambient/industrial project I've been moving towards for the last 8 years. At the time I was majoring in music at Messiah College in Pennsylvania. In the course of taking piano lessons I became interested in electronic music - at first the industrial flair of Circle of Dust, and later the dark soundscapes of Lycia. Eventually I began writing my own material simply for the joy of it. In the fall of 2000 Shawn "Shevdog" Shevitz of Digitopolis introduced me to Sonic Foundry's Acid Music 2.0 program, and I was able to take my music to the next level. Most of the songs here are newer ones using AM2, and are a serious departure from the dark progressive metal I've been playing for the last 4 years. I am approaching Riversoul with great anticipation and perhaps a little wonder. This is something of a grand experiment to me, and I can't wait to see what happens... |

Press Reviews
"...an interesting dark space soundscape in the vein of the Cold Meat Industry productions. It begins with mass of sound and then turns to hauntingly minimal tribalism, which builds the suspension for void."Tatu J Lund, reviewing "The Weight of Darkness" |
