Artist History
David Blood(guitar) and Jeffrey Normal (electric bass) hooked up through Joey Swails in San Francisco and developed a relationship based on a common love of deep, improvisational music. They played and recorded pretty much non-stop for a year from May of 88 till April of 89 while Jeffrey was on haiatus from his own band Jeffrey Normal and MAGICK and exhibited amazing contrast and tension derived from their philosophical differences. As David once remarked they were at "opposite ends of the ninja stick."This was a primal creative injunction and served to blow both of their quite formidable egos away.David Blood is a masterful musician playing guitar as well as guitar synth and he did all the drum programs.David also excels in the visual arts, painting and making very Toastered videos of the all the songs of which 24 hours are known to have existed (David please phone home!)Most of the compositions are David and Jeffreys and they would sometimes include Brett Stewart on tenor saxophone (playing a form of music they called Crypto Bop) and other guests rarely. This was the case however in Feb 1989 when they combined with trumpeter Chris Elliot to write a song for the Gray Panthers resulting in "Elders Rap". |
