Artist description
Chances are you've seen Rob Jones leering around in New Brunswick. No, not in person, but leering from the posted show fliers for his band Overlap. One such flier featured Jones as the Devil and another depicted Jones spanking a woman. "It's important to keep the people informed," Jones said. Indeed, Jones has a number of activities other activities - other than spanking - for which he's built a high profile in New Brunswick. The first and foremost is his progressive rock band OVERLAP, which is creatively fueled by Jones' unique vision. "We like to keep the shows interesting," Jones said. "It is entertainment as much as it is art. You have to present it in a form so people will become engaged." That means there is plenty of Jones' droll and dry wit during the shows. As for the music, it's an adventurous, rhythmically tight, 1960's prog-rock experience that would make Sid Barret smile. The band's - also David Thomas Smela, drums, Kate Hering, guitar, and Jeff Wiener, Bass, [and now including Chris Rydstram, percussion and Ben Chapman on sax] -Add to your radio station or My.MP3 today!!!!! |
