Artist description
Mistaforty is the emcee's emcee and the drinker's drinker. He believes in flowing the rhymes and the brew. His style is pretty much whatever comes out that day. "I like to pour the ryhmes over the rhythm and compliment the beat or sometimes just outright smash the sh*t to pieces." Not one to talk much about money and jewels, b*tches and hoes, or killin' people 40's style is a mixture of partyin', drinkin', and havin' fun but then flippin' script and unleashin' those skills. "It's the gemini in me." Forty says. "My keepin' real is anything from me bein' at the bar gettin twisted and hangin' wit my boys to chillin' wit fam at home or just watchin' the game and havin' some brews. I'm a regular dude doin' it for regular people." |

Artist History
Mistaforty is one of the rawest emcees representing the "Chocolate City", Washington, DC. Since rhyming on his grandmother's front porch in NW DC, Forty has been writing and making songs through every era of Hip Hop since the 80's.
Forty's style consist of hitting the track hard with lyrics, metaphors and similes that make listeners appreciate the writer as well as the producer. "It seems like everyone is concentrating so hard on having a tight beat and writing a tight hook that they forget about their verse and just carbon copy what everyone else is doing. The radio sounds like one long album sometimes."
Forty is known in the underground circles in the Washington metro area. He has battled in different arenas dating as far back as the Landsburgh/Frank Ski and Larry G days. He has also participated in Toni Blackmon's Freestyle Union and various open mic battles in the area such as Erico's Saturday night battles and performances in the Northside Records showcase.
Mistaforty has contributed to local artists' albums and mix tapes over the years. The most recent contributions are on the song "Live at the BarBQ2000" on Cees Mics' album educated consumers, and to Blues singer Changamire's single "Ask Me How I Know"(remix) from her album "Only Human" Forty is also a fixture on Washington DC's #1 radio show the Don and Mike show where his love for 40oz beers is well received. "Watch out for me", says Forty. "My goal is to drink with the whole world for a New Years celebration. This is just the beginning." Mistaforty's independently released first album 2001 Bottles of Beer On tha Wall is available now at Mistaforty.com and DonandMike fans.com. The next project is the high powered album from the Brew Ha Crew. The BHC consists of Mistaforty Grady Smoke and 5th element. "Grady is my brother and 5th is my cousin." Forty says. "We've been in and out of the studio together for years so it's just been a long time comin'. But we're family though so it's all good." Look for the BHC album tentatively titled "Drink Yo Drink and Smoke Yo Smoke" to drop spring/summer 2002.
