Artist History
Kitty has been writing since she was 13 years old on her mother's old l935 guitar. She and a friend wrote songs and learned how to sing harmony. She sang in all the high school and college jazz choirs and studied classical singing privately and on a college scholarship. She then became involved in writing rock music for some bands she was in. They did some recording but the recordings were never released. After the bands fell apart she perfromed classical music locally. She start singing in the coffee houses while living in Alaska where she found an accepting audience for her original folk/rock music. After moving back to her home town she started performing at the local coffee houses, Farmer's market and pub. She has named her debut CD "Cache" for two reasons. One is that she lived in Alaska for awhile and liked the cabin caches she saw up there. But the personal meaning for her is that the songs have been stored and saved up all this time until now. |

Press Reviews
Charlie Harrelson, founder of EvO:or.com says "(Kitty is)...the finest female vocalist in the world (no joke). We actually have a number of great female vocalists and althought I hate to pick one of such a great talent pool, Kitty is truly the voice of the angels". Bob Doerschuk from Starpolish.com is reviewing "Alice May" and "Ramblin' Wind" this next month with extrememly positive comments about the writing and the performance. Central Washington Entertianment News. July, 2000. "....Her new release, to be ready by Folklife, is a stunning collection of music that brings to mind the voices of Alannis Morrisette, Joni Mitchell, Ricky Lee Jones, etc., and songs that reflect the many journeys this very talented performer has taken. Don't miss her!"Yakima Herald Republic, Friday, July 7, 2000. "From the Heart to the Heart, Yakima songwriter offers a 'Cache' of life experiences" By Maisy Fernandez. "It's hard to tell which hits you first upon walking into (her) home: her warm demanor or the smell of fresh-backed pastries. But when you leave, you'll have a soft spot in your heart for the Yakima musician's schones and her music...."A feisty but amiable firecracker with a contagious smile,(she) seems to bring positive from the negative in her songs. But one thing's for sure: Her music makes listeners think"...."A connoisseur of nearly every musical genre,...(the) 11 track album of original cuts boasts a variety of sounds fom folk to rock to country--and everything in between. 'I wouldn't call it really mainstream," says Robert VonFeldt, producer/engineer at Cascade Recording in Cle Elum, where (she) recorded her CD. ' A few tracks that are adult contemporary. There's folk vibe, alternative, blues, rock. There's even some country.'...'I love listening to her voice,' says backup singer Lori Strosahl, (her) friend of 20 years. 'I think the first time I heard her sing, she made me cry...You can really tell that she feels very deeply about her causes. I always thought she did really good images. I could really go places just by reading the lyrics.'"...."VonFeldt believes 'Cache' offers audiences more than just something to listen to in the car. " I think they'll hear (musical) directions they haven't been exposed to," he says. "Hopefully it will encourage people to listen outside the box......
