Artist description
Being one of the first Swedish bands in their genre, Forcefeed brings you an unforgettable display of emotions, with hypnotic eerie verses through raging hardcore aggression to impressive melodic choruses that sticks to your mind like a malignant tumor. Playing the type of modern Alternative Metal that they do, the weight is put on the songs, where nothing escapes during the writing process. Forcefeed is THE Alternative Metal secret, lurking in the shadows of bands like Korn and Deftones. |

Artist History
This five-piece hails from Uppsala, Sweden, and was formed in late '95 by Lawrence Mackrory, Simon Wettervik and Dennis Olsson. The first couple of years were spent trying to form the right line-up and develop their sound. During the first year, two bassists came and went, while Lawrence handled both vocals and second guitars. It was not until christmas of '97 that Forcefeed found a permanent second guitarist and bassist. Ronnie Nyman and Ted Mattson joined the band and finally they could focus on the most important thing... writing songs.Just three weeks after, on christmas day, the band did their first show with the new line-up at the local rock club Fellini's in Uppsala. The show went great and the band's confidence grew. Two months later they recorded their first demo with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Stuck Mojo, Misery Loves Co.) at his studio Dug-Out Productions. The songs were "Soil", "In Tongues" and "Pressure". Before even having a chance to send the demo to record labels, they got contacted by the Swedish metal label War Music who had heard the recording through one of their bands who had just recorded at the same studio. War Music had only released Death/Thrash Metal music before, and was eager to broaden their musical variety. So, the demo evolved into the "Soil" MCD. The band waited, played shows and wrote new songs and by the time the MCD finally was released, a whole year had passed. "Soil" was well-recieved in the Swedish music-press, and it certainly helped Forcefeed to spread their name outside of the underground movement. The MCD had therefore served it's purpose. But it was time to move on to other things, and because the bands music had somewhat changed, they decided to record another demo, again with Daniel. The '99 recording resulted in two songs: "Shed The Clouds" and "Tonight". The rest of the year was spent playing shows. '99 was certainly Forcefeed's best year yet gig-wise. The word of them being a highly energetic live-act spread and soon they were doing support slots to such big Swedish bands as Breach and LOK. At the Breach gig, most of the crowd left even before the headliners came on. In the spring of 2000, Forcefeed replace Ronnie Nyman with local talent Peter Waites. At present, Forcefeed are in the process of writing material for an album and looking for a record label to hook them up with a deal. Be prepared to swallow their music with all your heart! Because I can assure you ...it's fresh! |
