Artist description
It's not a band of gypsies, it's not the band of the hand, it's not the band on the run.... it is industrial strength folk- intelligent rock music tempered with clear-eyed midwestern honesty and filtered through tradition, with a pinch of salt. |

Artist History
West of Rome was started in 1997 by Marc Alberts,Chris Demay and Tom Cox. The band has weathered many changes, but has remained centered around those three core members and one common goal: to make great music. The current line-up includes Andy Beaumont, who joined the band in 1998, and newcomer Dan Kennedy. West of Rome has played countless shows in Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and all points in between, steadily building up it's enthusiastic and loyal fan base. Last year the band produced and released Flat Iron Road, a four song cd that was so well received that it attracted the attention of Chicago-based Whack-a-doo records, which will be releasing the band's first full length recording in March of 2001. |
