Artist description
Discovered as the house band at a smelly rural bar in upstate New York, the ShAnkheAds became a cult phenomenon when recordings of their shows got airplay on college radio. Noted for their remarkably original lyrical and musical style, their offbeat instrumentation and one-beer-too-many musicianship, listeners with a taste for the absurd will doubtlessly become regulars at the "Starlite Lounge" -- home venue for this weird-ass ensemble. |

Artist History
The ShAnkheAds were discovered some years back by a few college radio staffers who were camping in Upstate New York and went into a local tavern in search of a mosquito-free place to enjoy a cold brew. What they found was an wonderfully eccentric band playing in front of a few unappreciative patrons. The band was the ShAnkheads and they quickly secured permission to record them for airplay on their station. Within a year, The ShAnkheAds were the most requested band on their playlists. The Band can still be found at The Starlite Lounge on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Free popcorn on Wednesdays. |
