Artist History
RoseWynde performs throughout the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon. Inspired by pastoral settings and dramatic landscapes set between the coastal mountains and the majestic volcanic peaks of the Cascade range, RoseWynde’s music is lyrical and fresh; yet as well-grounded as the bucolic traditions of the valley . Sandy Duffy Norman and Kathryn Cater found a kinship, not only in their love of both classical and traditional music, but in their devotion to students, dogs, and the garden. Sandy plays a handmade gold Powell flute and Kathy plays a rosewood Aoyama Musa. |

Rosewynde's "Walking Tune" is such a CD. “The CD includes inventive arrangements of well known compositions from such masters as Bill Whelan, Riverdance and Claude Bolling, Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano and the duo’s favorite traditional Celtic and American Folk music imbued with a host of innovative, fresh, and beautiful treatments. The love of traditional music and classical sound are honored on this enchanting and meditative new release. The ambiance of Walking Tune can be expressed as a new and soothing experience, whether it's musical or emotional, Walking Tune invites us to experience something evocative. Destined to attract broad audiences from the classical novice to the genre's ardent followers, as well as Celtic and New Age lovers, these selections thoughtfully engage all in a relaxing and contemplative listening experience. Although varied in style and musical range, the record progresses seamlessly, fluidly jumping from traditional reel Drowsy Maggie to the smooth jazz of Sentimentale to the original Valley Rain, all the while maintaining a steady stream of soothing arrangements. The works of RoseWynde, Flute and Harp duo, have inspired the upcoming CD Summer Ayres, to be released in August 2001. The artists' creative interpretations capture the attention on the first listen.
