Artist description
Los Delicados originally began as a guerrilla poetry/street performance movement conceptualized by San Francisco State creative writing students, Paul Flores, Darren de Leon and Norman Zelaya, who had a desire to take poetry where it was needed most, out of the university and into the street. They debuted their politicized, mezclalero poetics on the sidewalk at Union Square, the commercial tourist center of San Francisco in November 1996. Soon they were performing together at spoken word venues and Latino cultural centers all over the Bay Area. |
