Artist History
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Elizabeth Bruce has been writings songs and singing ever since she was a little girl. Although it wasn't till after college that she started to pursue her dream of becoming a musician. She started as a Director of Performance Promotion at a non-profit arts organization, but soon after decided that although she loved promoting new artists, her passion lied in the art of playing the music. So she moved to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles she did a lot of playing and singing on her own in coffeeshops and such and then this year she decided to expand her music. So she put a band together, and with the help of family and friends she produced her first CD.Elizabeth Bruce writes her music directly from her life. Her music blends sultry sounds with heartwrenching lyrics that speak about her trials and tribulations, with drug abuse and weight obsession. "Music should touch the heart of everyone and to do that you need to be willing to expose yourself completely," she says. Her passion lies in her lyrics. For example, she writes about having to stand by a friend when she went through an abortion. She writes how hard it was and how her friend never really got over the loss and how maybe if she would have thought about the consequences in the first place it could have been prevented. |
