    Artist description
I'm an addict to music. I love it. My perfect world on this planet would be a huge tri-level club with Hip Hop, Techno and all forms of electronic music being played. I'm just that into music. You'd have to be around me to understand me. But those around me know music is one of favorite things on this planet.
    Music Style
My main music style is trance. I love trance. Got into the scene a few years back and never left. Though my roots are from hip hop, I also enjoy Deep House and all types of progressive music.
    Musical Influences
My musical influences come from my intrest in music as a kid. I loved the 80's. I grew up listening to a lot of 80's music and my mother was a big oldies fan so I got the best of both worlds ya know?? By the late 80's I was listening to a lot of hip hop, especially gangsta rap. House music caught my attention then also. So you hear a variety of styles within my music.

    Artist History
"I really got into music at a young age. Playing around with drum machines and keyboards mainly. But on my PC (Commodore 64) I did have a program that taught me how melodies are constructed. It just went on from there." And that's how it all started...by the age of 13 he started off making small mix tapes. "I remember my first experience mixing was just takin' some music off Rap City and Yo! MTV raps. I would tape it and then run through my moms speakers. Shit was so ghetto cuz I didn't have an RCA Y adapter. It was like audio came from one speaker." That love for music drove him to want to do more. It wasn't until around 1993 that he started really getting into making music. "Yeah, 'round my Junior year in High school I really started making more tapes. Just for me, but they was banging. I would mix redman and Dr Dre and shit. It was so off the fuckin' chain. By '94 I was dippin' my moms Camry and I would bump my tapes everywhere I went. Shit that knocked is what I picked out." In 2000 Yoshi took his love to the next level; music production. Using only low level software, two wave editors and a slow 90MzH Pentium computer Yoshi took on the moniker DJ Yoshi. His inital release was XTC, a mix of tech-house and trance. "That mix was really mediocore to me. I knew I could have done 200% better, but I was just starting out. One track that really stuck with me was 'It Begins...'. That song just knocked and loved it. Really minimal trance. I remixed it later on though..." Tragedy struck twice in 2000, the resulting effect delayed the second release from DJ Yoshi. "I actually finished production on my first Studio 226 installment. I delayed the release to put out XTC first because I felt that my first release should be the style I most identify with. But shit, when both Jared and Calvin died it totally fucked me up. Yo, Calvin passed from some natural causes typa shit. But Jared, man he was shot in the neck by some coward fuckin' kid. Protectin' his lil' bro. Mane, for real, that really fucked me up inside losin' two peoples in less than two weeks time." The success of Studio 226 - Volume I was of no surprise. The somber, but upbeat dance/club mix hit home with a lot of Yoshi's fans. "The fans loved the shit...got a lot of positive feedback from everyone. Album actually sold better than XTC. That album has the most profound effect on me. So much love and pain went into it." DJ Yoshi released a second installment to STudio 226 and a first installment to a new mix entitled Mixology. "Mixology, to me, is my best work to date. I laid each track out from front to back and ain't no filler music on that disc. What you see is what you get. My man Gumbo5000 hit me off with an intro. Had to put the parental advisory warning on the label because G is wild on the mic. He did that shit in just one take."
    Group Members
Currently I'm the only member on my label. I try not to go outside the company in order to keep overhead down. Plus I love all aspects of doing music. From the actually laying out a track, to just playing with different settings to get different sounds. I do have outside friends who do help me stay on top of my game. My man Gumbo is the news source. He's got the hook up on everything. My man Rich P, he's 'bout ready to get his own studio goin' so look out for some collabo's in the future with him. My dogg DJ SaneR is just wild. He's always got something cookin' on the turntable so I hear a lot of music here in the states that most folks don't get to hear. I'm glad that each one of them adds to me. They are my fam first and foremost.
