Artist History Chili Charles..composer and percussionist. Chili has worked and toured with many different artists ranging from Muddy waters to the Beach Boys. Chili is now composing and arranging new alternative Caribean music using the Steeldrums. Born in the Trinidad and Tobago Chili moved to New York in his teens and was influenced by the jazz latin and rock and roll scene while attending college . After entering the music business there he moved to the west coast where he was involved in music production with the likes of the Jazz Crusaders and Hugh Masakela. From there moved to England where he was signed as a solo artist with Virgin Records. After doing two albums for Virgin Records..."BUSY CORNER" and "QUICKSTEP" moved back to the west coast of the USA and worked as a side man /session player in the Jazz, Pop , Blues and Reggae genres....with the likes of Jimmy Witherspoon....Harry Nillson..Mike Oldfield..Ringo Starr....Brian Wilson....Taj Mahal..Lowell George....Ben Harper..Daniel Lanois...Bruddah Kuz...Robert Palmer...Terry Melcher...Robbie Greenidge...Boogsie Sharpe..Joe Higgs..Wailing Souls.. Mandators...Vandyke Parks and Della Reese to name a few. Chili now resides in Los Angeles,Big island in Hawaii..and Trinidad where he is involved in music and art productions...movie production work and doing various style gigs including rock...blues....hawaiian...reggae/caribean and jazz.
