    Artist History
The Earth was created... and then there was AEPOC, an Alternative/Electronic band from Madison, Wisconsin. Created in June of 2000, AEPOC finished it's first album in December, titled Strange Perfection... which was completely instrumental, and intended for a movie soundtrack (which, beyond AEPOC's control, never developed). Right after Strange Perfection was released, AEPOC ventured on a different path and created "Unimagined", "Had Enough", "Numb". AEPOC then began taking control of their future. Along with Strange Perfection, they created "demo discs" of their three newest tracks and sent copies out to local radio stations. Relatively soon after, the band received notice that they were to be featured on Madison's 92.1 WMAD's May 22nd, 2001 installment of the "Tuesday Night Fights", generally referred to as a battle of the bands. Two local groups, head to head, winner goes on to the next battle. Should a band be fortunate enough to win four consecutive battles, they would then be "retired" and called on later in the year for the "Fight Championships". The first opponent for AEPOC was "The Philosopher Kings", who had won the Fights the previous week. After two long hours of awaiting the outcome, AEPOC was thrilled to find that "Had Enough" had beaten out the competition, and that they were on to week two, and "6 Inch". The band continued on in their winning ways the following two weeks, downing both "6 Inch", as well as "Shoeless", both beaten out with AEPOC's best track, "Numb". Unfortunately, during their fourth and final week of the Fights, AEPOC was defeated by the band "Furgeson". During that timeframe, AEPOC was busy cranking out "The Real Thing", and "Stock", and getting signed by Referenda Records out of the UK (June 16th, 2001). Those two songs, along with "Unimagined", "Had Enough", and "Numb", were compiled into the band's latest disc. AEPOC's Studio Tracks EP was released July 1st, 2001... only 50 copies were made. AEPOC released an album off Referenda Records called Something Different on July 1st, 2001.

    Press Reviews
"Your choice of sounds, song structure, and overall feel are definately top notch! Great, great stuff you got going." - c.a. todd[glttch founder] - - - ""The latest single from AEPOC, 'Unimagined', is a new direction that continues to feature the band's tight electronic sound. True to form, 'Unimagined' delivers a strong baseline hook, but you're probably not going to hear this one in the club. AEPOC has created a new genre I call 'Brown Electro-pop'. The lyrics are not dark but the fact that Jason Kessenich (vocals) is pissed is unmistakeable. Thankfully, the vocal line is not overdone - mixed perfectly between the head-bouncing beat and the lead melody synths. The result is smooth. I found myself playing 'Unimagined' over and over, going back to AEPOC's springier 'Strange Perfection' and 'Twenty-12' for a little pick-me-up, but then heading back to 'Unimagined' and grooving away. Gen-Xers will find 'Unimagined' right up their alley. If Kurt Cobain had enough talent to actually play a keyboard he would have written this. If you're looking for a track to add to your electronic/techno airplay mix, or just looking for something new, 'Unimagined' is a must have." - Brian Goeller" - - - "'Everything Lost' is the second song on AEPOC's CD. Opens with a cool electronic-rock intro with great synthy licks and a strong beat. A great instrumental track that just gets better and better as the song progresses. Not available on their artist page, so if you wanna hear it, grab hold of their 13 track Strange Perfection CD today! - Mike, MP3Unsignedartists.com
