Artist History
From the torrid underbelly of Ohio comes one of the most unusual musical groups ever to poke it’s muck covered head from the virgining Portsmouth music scene. At first scared and timid, now strong and fearless, these boys have found a new home on stage. Growing ever stronger with each show. Soon there will be no stopping such a force. Shall we all perish at our first sight of The Schaefers? Probably not, but it is something to behold. These eight boys had been friends for some time. After the break up of their respected bands they decided to look within. Each held hidden powers which could be brought into something never before seen in Portsmouth. SKA!!! But what of their influences? Everything from emo and punk, to rock and easy listening(it’s always the singer). After they joined forces, they knew nothing would stop them. No amount of adversity could stall their rise. Soon songs that rocked as hard as Motley Crue, but spoke to you just like Barry Manilow, reared their ugly heads. It was their time. The words had been written, the Gods had spoken, and the Schaefers had arrived. After forming the band, The Schaefers went through some tough times. After a couple years of playing and touring, the ever-popular fight broke out. Unfortunately, the boys called it quits for a short time(a small argument when Ian hit Andy with a van). But they were not done yet. Down, but not out, they regenerated and became even more powerful. The same lineup returned with a more dedicated attitude. But time was running out. Soon the Millennium would be at hand. An end for some, but the beginning for our heroes. After surviving the end, The Schaefers continued their plan of total musical domination. Their live show is unparalleled. Only the great circuses of old rival their electricity. Their shows have more energy than the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, and there’s more dancing than American Bandstand. If someone should ever look directly at any member of the band, they may be stricken blind. With the release of their CD, If I Was a Gangsta, the Schaefers introduced their poison to the public. A smaller, less potent dose was given in 1999, when they appeared on the Fevered Pitch Records compilation, A ’lil Something for the Kids. Outbreaks of singing and dancing are the symptoms of the disease, and soon the inflicted will be found lying on the ground incoherently mumbling the words to the songs. Wherever good is rewarded, and evil is greatly punished; you will find them. Wherever there are songs to be sung, music to be made, and beer to be drunk; they will be there. Not until every house, and every person has a Schaefers CD, will these boys rest. Evil doers beware. The Schaefers have landed. |
