Artist History
Q had been involved in bands on and off through high school and college, but only did vocals because he could not play any instruments. In 1995 Q became a fan of the Presidents of the United States of America after hearing their single "Lump". He was intrigued with the Presidents' instruments, as Chris Ballew played a 2 string 'Basitar' and Dave Dederer played a 3 string 'Guitbass'. Q figured he could handle this, and yanked 3 strings off of an old acoustic guitar his brother had loaned him. Pleased with the speed and ease of his success, Q began to rapidly acquire more instruments. Q later stumbled into Chris Ballew via the internet. With guidance from Chris, Q has set up his Guitbasses and Basitar to exacting Presidential specifications. He now plays acoustic and electric 3 string Guitbass, electric 2 string Basitar, and a standard 4 string Bass. With more inspiration from Chris, Q began to write original material. These songs are first recorded on a 4-track casette recorder, then piped in to Q's PC for final production and mixing. Q makes regular guest appearances with the band FOG. |
