Artist description 1134 is an original Metal Band from Iowa, considered one of the heaviest in our area by our fans. We utilize a unique approach to our muzik: Drums are written to drive the music, guitars are written to lead the drums, vocals are written to terrify and inspire viscious acts of aggression amongst the crowds.

Artist History Shark & Wub originally started the band in Shark's parent's garage. We invited Scoot over to try out, but when he heard us, he didn't know how to write because of how "different" we were writing our music. We decided we didn't need a bassist due to our tuning style, or de-tuning style. The opportunity for our first show arose and we needed a name. While Shark & Wub were sittin out front of Shark's Parent's house, we chose the address, 1134 Bertch, thus, 1134. We contemplated it, were a little leary about using it. We played our first show as 1134 at the local High School Jam in 1993. As headliners, we didn't know how the name would go over. During our set we'd hear people scream "1134" and that was it. No more looking for names, we found what fit. We found out after the jam that the kids saw our fliers and heard that some teachers were protesting them because they spelled "hell" downsideUP. EVEN MORE REASON TO KEEP IT!!! If we can get under the skin of teachers and make kids scream our name, we're doing what we wanted, making a kick ass lasting impression on the world!
