Artist History The history of the Simpletons has been many years in the making. Originally started by singer/guitarist Mark Probert 7 years ago, who had a desire to pursue music in a different direction than it was going at the time, which was mainly 80's hard rock. Mark envisioned having a more acoustic based sound yet having a rock edge. He then joined forces with singer/bassist Stan Maeser to form the Simpletons. Mainly playing restaurants, and a few other low-key events, they continued to search for the remaining pieces of the band. In September of 1999,lead guitarist Stephen Nageli joined the Simpletons to continue to carve out the bands signature sound. The newest addition to the Simpltons is a young phenom keyboardist Ryan Gardener. He will bring a new feel to the Simpletons music by adding Hammond B-3 and other awesome colors to the already colorful music. Now the Simpletons are seeking a drummer/percussionist to fill out their unique yet familiar sound.
