Artist History
Marria, began singing cover songs of pop and country music when she
was nine for friends and family. Later forming and singing with a pop
group in local clubs for several years. After realizing the other members
did'nt share the same vision the group dismantled and Marria went on to
study broadcasting. Later working for several National Talk shows,
creating and hosting two shows on cable, Reunited Live with Marria and
Love online/offline. In 1996 while surfing through the TV channels on
cable, a country artist by the name of Sammy Kershaw caught her attention
on a show called CMT. In the middle of his song Vidalia, she found a home
in country music. In October 1999, Marria wrote her first country song
"No Ordinary Woman", many more followed. In November 1999 on a whim
Marria sent her demo to Nashville, country hall of famer Alex Zantisis. He
responded that he had worked with Pasty Cline and that Marria, had a similiar
unique voice. He stated that she had the ability to move the listener, putting
them in the experience of the song. A trait rarely seen in an artist something
the music industry needed. Those words inspired Marria, to head northbound
to Nashville, Tennessee. Arriving in Tn, in March of 2000, Marria began
laying the ground work for her first album. "No Ordinary Woman". |
