Artist description
The songs of Die Daily combine complex riff structures and tempo changes with a very pleasing and listenable heavy rock sound to create a personable sort of groove music that real folks can relate to. It's not just speed metal, sludge rock, or the blues, but it draws from all these and creates a new monster. Based in San Antonio, Texas, Die Daily is a cool vision of heavy metal. |

Artist History
I (Ed) have been a guitarist for about 12 years and have played in various bands (Voodoo Klan, Grunge Buffet) during that time period. I have a black 1985 Gibson Explorer with an EMG-85 humbucker in the bridge position and an EMG-S single coil in the neck position. I use this guitar mainly for studio work and as a backup guitar on stage. For my main stage axe, I am putting together a custom guitar that has an Epiphone Firebird VII body and is fitted with Gibson & Grover hardware and the following pickups: EMG-85 humbucker in the bridge position and an EMG-SA single coil in the neck position. For my rhythm sound I use a Marshall JCM800 100 watt head through a Marshall 1960AV Vintage 4x12 cabinet (Vintage 30 Celestion Speakers). My lead sound is achieved by running a Marshall 1959 Super Lead Plexi Re-Issue 100 Watt head through a Marshall 1960AX 4x12 cabinet (25Watt Celestion "Greenback" Speakers). I use an Ibanez TS9 overdrive pedal that has the TS808 modification, a Marshall Blues Breaker, and a Vox V847 Wah-Wah pedal with a "true bypass" modification.George started playing drums when he was 14 years old, soon after I began playing guitar. We work well together and have enjoyed the studio work that we have done. He is currently using "pawn shop special" drums (Tama RockStars) but hopes to upgrade to a set of Ayotte Customs in the near future. George's drum style has accurately, I think, been described as "jazzy" but heavy. It reminds me of Mitch Mitchell's style, the drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience.Ben plays a Fender Precision Bass through a 150 watt Crate Bass Amp with 2 15" woofers in cunjunction with a 60 watt Marshall Bass Amp with 1 12" speaker. He also has a Yamaha BB Series 5 string bass and an Ibanez Soundgear 4 string bass. Ben is a tremendous addition to Die Daily as he is a very talented musician capable of unique creativity. He helps to separate us from other "metal" bands with his distinctively intelligent, heavy blues bass style. |
