Artist History
Tom's current line-up started as a recording project, with John Walter on standup bass and Steve Cornell on steel. At the second recording session we were joined by Les James on snare drum. At the third session, Doug Adams lent his talents on fiddle. This version of the band never played any live gigs. Around this time guitarist Mike Wolf and Tom started playing gigs as a duo. Les joined us for a couple of these, then Mike & Les's pal Greg Reeves volunteered his services on Fender bass. Soon David Phillips was sitting in with us on steel, and Doug continued to contribute fiddle when he could make the dates. That's the band as it stands now, though other musicians deserve mention too: drummer Christopher Fisher, fiddler Mary Pitchford, and steelman Joe Hartnett have all lent their talents for live dates a time or two. |
