Artist History
THE KEEPERS emerged from the ashes of two of Belfast's best live bands, namely the Cinnamon Firm and Thee Dreggs. They have managed to retain the essence of both these bands but with an added dynamic that gives them their own distinct sound.Their music is ingrained with elements of R&B, mod, punk and garage but refuses to be pidgeon-holed into any of these genres. The only label that does stick is rock 'n' roll. The Keepers first got together in March 2000 and it wasn't long before they had crafted a handful of songs. They recorded the tracks straight away while they were still fresh and vibrant to their ears, a philosophy they mean to continue with future recordings. On May 24th, the band played their first gig to a rapturous response in front of 300 people at Belfast's Limelight club. They now have a residency at the Balloon Farm club (@ the Duke of York, Belfast)every friday night. Evidence that they look set to become a great live band. |
