    Artist History
Ashboro Faith was formed in 2000 by singer/songwriter Tom Goller. The Ohio born multi-instrumentalist began his early musical life as a drummer and eventually began playing piano, bass, and singing lead vocals. After spending years in several different bands playing the Hollywood clubs, touring America, performing at ASCAP showcases, and opening shows for legendary artists like BB King and Gregg Allman, Goller quit it all in order to form his own band. Ashboro Faith became home for a dynamic catalog of songs Tom had written on his Fender Rhodes piano while living alone for several reclusive years. These compositions - laced with introspection, displacement, neuroticism, death, and love - exposed an ambivalence over “coming of age” and served as the main thrust behind 2000's Stained Glass Tear EP. A modest collection of six demos on which Goller sang all the vocals and played most of the instruments, reviewers noted “a very updated Beatles sound” on the EP and compared it to “Black Hole Sun, David Bowie and Lucy in the Sky [with] almost Radiohead/Bowie-like vocals.” In general, Stained Glass Tear was also well received by music industry insiders who made special mention of the band's unique sound, “submissive, yet charismatic” vocals, and strong songwriting. Goller spent 2001 playing a variety of local acoustic gigs in LA while gearing up to record a full-length album with guitar pickers Geoff Pearlman and Janet Robin. By the end of the year, he began laying down drum and bass tracks in his home studio with the idea being to make a no-frills Pop Rock record. The new songs started to take shape by grabbing a handful of guitar amp volume and putting Goller's moody introspective piano oriented tunes through some long overdue electric shock therapy. Nine months later, the band emerged from the studio with the August 2002 release of their first full-length album Paleotronic. Steering clear of the homogenized drone of today's tuneless corporate rock, Paleotronic is a grab bag full of exquisite and unabashed Pop Rock gems. Goller, who once again plays all the instruments on the album save the electric guitar, has pushed the band beyond the retro vision of earlier recordings and appears to have found a comfortable niche leading campfire sing-a-longs for the impending “Consumerism Age” hangover. Ashboro Faith will be playing live shows in the Los Angeles area in support of the new release.
