    Press Reviews
From the March 1999 issue of 'More Sugar Entertainment Magazine': They're a very hardrock duo who easily conjure up the spirit of Hendrix on each of the 11 tracks on this disc. Carlyle "Zigi" Cole handles the lead vocals (sometimes dangerously close to Jimi's timbre) and bass. George "Axsus" Anotngiorgi also sings and plays lead guitar. Discovered by the legendary Richie Havens, they have performed at all the NYC hot spots and, over the years, have played with the aforementioned Havens as well as Wison Pickett and Vinnie Martell (Vanilla Fudge). The sounds you'll hear emanating from your speakers when you hear this are obviously derivitave of the master himself but the originality of the lyrics touching on such topics as the plants, love, judgment and revolution combined with the sheer power of guitar leads and rythym (along with your obligatory feedback and distortion) adds up to an amazing collection of songs that go back to the roots of metal and a reminder that, after all the criticism heaped on Robin Trower and Frank Marino for being Jimi clones, maybe they had the right idea carrying on the tradition. Zigi & Axsus are the first artists in over 25 years that I've heard that add rather than deter to that tradition. It's reassuring to know that there is some Purple Haze left in some people's brains.
