Artist History
It all started back in 2579, when The Ministry of Good Music (MGM) came to the conclusion that humanity, having been forcibly subjected to Musac Pop tunes for nearly 5 centuries had actually become genetically incapable of writing music without subconciously inserting the word "baby" usually followed by "I love you" or "don't leave me". This could have been bearable had the music been fresh and creative, but it seemed that due to the same background Musak brainwashing ubiquitous in every coffeehopshop in orbit, every Mallplanet, every trans-galactic bus used by sentient species, this foul montonous drone had taken root and was even considered music by most who heard it! It was decided that something had to be done. The scientists at MGM decided that they would have to go back into time and kidnap a few musicians from old earth. But who should they kidnap? Mozart?Hmmm. His music had long been banned by the Musac Police. No not mozart, they decided, we'll save him for later. Well, to make a long tale a little shorter, so as not to lose any of you out there with a 30 second attention span, Woody Guthrie was chosen. It just so happened that his famous song "This Land is Your Land" had been made the planetary anthem on Titan, Jupiter's moon Where the radical new institution MGM was founded. The beat and lyrics to the song were altered slightly, but the tune remained close to the same.I'm told it went (or actually will go) something like this, "This moon is your moon, this moon is my moon, don't ever leave me baby 'cause I'd die without you, Oh baby..." and was set to a slow R&B beat. How Woody Was kidnapped And How He Happened upon The Fat Naked Germans is a different story, if anyone even read this far and is still curious they can email me and I will gladly finish relaying the story. Until then, remember the grim future of musac and do your best to sabotage it now before it alters our genetic make up. |
