Artist description
Although most of the songs here are solo demos and home recordings I like the name The Whisky Horrors so much that I'm using it as an umbrella to cover all the stuff on this page. I got the name from a phrase in a Ray Bradbury story and it just leapt out at me. I sometimes play as a four piece with bass, lead and percussion, but most of these songs are just me on my own. |

Music Style
Acoustic rock |

Musical Influences
Late 60s' and early 70s' folk rock. Heros include Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, 60's folk rock but this is perhaps misleading and I should probably apologise to Tim Buckley |

Artist History
Gerry and I have played together on and off for a number of years, Gerry also writes songs. Saz and Stevie joined up with us more recently. I am looking forward in future to gigging and recording as a four piece entity. |
|
Group Members
The Whisky Horrors are a four piece with Gerry on lead guitar, Stevie on bass, Saz on percussion and myself singing and strumming. |
|
Instruments
Normally I play an old Baldwin Virginian semi acoustic, I've seen the guy in P J Harveys' band play one. Gerry and Stevie are both Fender men and Saz plays a variety of percussive instruments of which I know nothing. |
|
Albums
I'm busily recording songs for a solo effort called 'Articles For The Blind' which should be ready by late Summer. The title comes from the talking books my parents used to recieve when I was a boy. |
