Artist description
Hard rock, heavy like a weight. It tugs at your heart and shakes you in your shoes.
A pyre of broken drumsticks lies haphazard beside Aaron,
growing in constant succession as he pounds away. Sweat, passion,
fatigue pours from Charley’s lips, from his bucking
fender. Blood drips from Brad’s raw fingers and runs down
his arm, staining his pick guard. A mess of coiled
cords swims beneath the trio’s feet. None of
them seem to notice, they are too enveloped in
their screams of mistrust and melancholy.
Swept up in the decibel-eclipsing, distortion-driven
rock that is the fruit of their labor. Meet
Sharpie.

Artist History
On December 7th, 1996, the town of subdued excitement
was awoken by the initial incarnation of Sharpie.
Comprised of Charley, Brad and Darren, the original drummer, Sharpie opened for Seattle’s Bloodloss at the infamous 3B Tavern (home of GarageShock).
Little did they know that their efforts would coalesce into its current embodiment.
Before forming Sharpie, Charley had received his hard knocks in a host of several other Bellingham bands, including ässwipé and 50lb. Test. Stepping in front of the mic with Sharpie proved to be a worthwhile
decision, as well as a key turning point for Charley.
His music expanded from its first punk rock baby steps to
the much more intimate yet forceful roar of guitar-fueled rock.
Darren and Charley, long time friends, jammed together as a two piece
during the fall of 1996. A few shows were played and fun
was had, but no serious aspirations existed beyond drinking
beer and practicing together. Both were flattered and awed
when Brad asked if he could join in on a practice.
Brad had earned his pedigree in Seattle, playing with
cult classics such as Kaos, Killision, Swerving Birds,
and the Bali Girls. An accomplished veteran, his command
of the bass is as much a gift to witness as it is punishing.
One year after Sharpie’s inception Darren decided
to call it quits, yearning for the greener pastures
of a family life and job security. With a wink from
lady luck and swift kick in the ass, Aaron landed
behind the drum kit. Aaron is regarded by many
as not only a technically proficient drummer, but
one of the hardest hitting players in the Northwest.
Raised on Kiss and other metal legends, Aaron brought
a new twist to the already contorted Sharpie.
Together Charley, Brad, and Aaron collaborate to
produce the intensely searing, loud, and heavy
rock of Sharpie.
