Artist description
Absoulute garage-rock without the garage with more mistakes than the Nixon administration - but people love this band of misfits. In fact, they collect copies of the 100 vinyl LPs pressed in August of 1973, rumored to be already bootlegged in Europe on CD. In fact, "The Album" is being re-released May 15, 1999 by Gear Fab Records, Orlando, FL. |

1.(A) THE ALBUM - RHUBARB'S REVENGE or CONFESSIONS OF A BIG LANKY DOPE (Pink Grass) 1972
R3/4
NB: (1) due to be reissued on CD by Gear Fab.
This very home-made record, recorded 1970-71 is an acquired taste, to be sure. Side one is all covers, including Mr.
Spaceman, Victoria, Time Of The Season and others, all very strangely interpreted. Side two is all originals where the band's
true dementia is revealed on tracks like When I Feed My Prize Hog, Nice Spot In The Dark and Avon Girl. Not for all, but
definitely all for some of you weirdos. File next to Underground Failure as a point of reference. They hailed from New Jersey
and the album wasn't issued with a cover. (Clark Faville) |
