Artist History
Founding member Jimmy Stare: Stare played in various bands until the age of 22 when he smashed everything
after a bad gig and enlisted in the Marine Corps to get away from Cleveland and music in general. A year
later he found himself playing for free drinks in Okinawa, Japan. Realizing he could never get away from
the music "bug" he continued to play in every port he found himself in. Over the last seven years he has
traveled the world working as a grunt ground pounder in the Marine Corps and writing songs about it all.
The name Lovesock is one part laziness and one part masturbation. Only a Marine stationed at Camp Schawb
Japan can truly appreciate the term "Lovesock". To remain anonymous at first, Stare just started calling
himself lovesock when he started playing on a regular basis, mostly as a joke at first but the name stuck.
