Artist History
This mob known to the public as Locash was founded in December of 1996. Through the first year there were many changes in the lineup and many changes in the sound that so many people have come to recognize as Locash. In early August another line-up change would seal the band, and lock them into their now, well-definied sound. Adam gave up the guitar slot to persue his longtime, although hidden, dream of becoming a vocalist; and took his present seat beside Chris. Adam pitted his hi-pitched squeal and somewhat hip-hop influenced style against Chris' balls-to-the-wall, low-end growl, and the two seemed to fit perfectly. From that point on Locash has plowed full- speed into the St. Louis scene, feeding the ears of anyone who cares to taste the sound. The sounds created by the band have been compared to the likes of Sepultura, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Vision of Disorder, and Pantera to name a few. Locash has succesfully melted all these influences to make something so intense and defined, that one listen will never be enough.November of 98 was an incredible month for the band. They entered the Xtreme Radio Battle of the Bands to compete for the opening slot of the Motley Crue tour at St. Louis' own Fox Theatre. They were chosen from a group of around a hundred bands to compete in a battle against 4 of St. Louis' top local acts. That night the band delivered one of their tightest, most intense, most brutal live shows ever. As none of the other bands seemed to match Locash's performance, they earned the opportunity to play in front of more than 3000 people. The band has opened for various national acts ranging from bands like Zao, Motley Crue, One Minute Silence, Drown, Static-X, The Clay People, and even Vanilla Ice, proving that there is something that appeals to almost anyone in Locash's sound. The band attributes a great deal of their success to their fans, and how dedicated and supportive they've been since day one. The band makes sure they always stay accessible to everyone; and you'll always see them right in the mix, supporting other local acts as well as all their favorite bands who have influenced them so much. So make sure to come up and say hi. They're always down for a good conversation. If you haven't done so already, make sure you check out Locash live; that is where they shine the most. They appear at least monthly all over the St. Louis club scene, and have begun to stretch out to other regional cities in the midwest.Well, that's the story. Thanks so much for your time and interest in the band. Take care, support your local scene, and most of all, have fun! |
