Press Reviews
Excerpts from LIVE MAGAZINE, JUNE 1999EAT'M SHOWCASES BY AVIVA KATZHis melodic tunes have distinct verse and chorus not common to instrumental piano work.......... Displaying some of the fastest hands in Vegas, Hugo interspersed his set with a variety of tempo. He wisely paced himself, so the mood changes were never jarring......It is noteworthy that all surrounding conversation ceased during his performance. FROM LE LUNDI......It is a capital season for this musician. Hugo bears the honor of being the only Quebecer invited to perform a 30 minute showcase for the American Music Industry later this month at the chic Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. It appears Uncle Sams country appreciates the young virtuoso at his true value. FROM BENSON & HEDGES INTERNATIONAL, LET THE FIREWORKS BEGIN.....FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE......The fuse has been lit for the Fifteenth Year of Light. This premiere opening pays tribute to fifteen years of pyrotechnical art in Montreal. Music lover Pierre Walder created the music while the pyrotechnic effects were the brainchild of Pier Paolo Serafino. To distinguish both parts of the opening presentation, an interlude will light up the nocturnal stage. A stream of piano notes will seem to dance throughout the evening sky to honor the extremely talented Montreal composer and songwriter Karl Hugo. |
