    Artist History
Shiloh Who? "When no one else would come, Shiloh you always came... and you stayed." That lyric from the Neil Diamond song "Shiloh"-I couldn't help but make the comparison between Shiloh's name and that classic. "Yeah, we just thought that since Neil Diamond was really famous that if we linked ourselves to him somehow we could ride his coat-tails a bit. You know... fly in under the radar... psychology type of thing. 'Cause right now it's like 'Shiloh who?'" jested Colin Moreh of Shiloh. Brother Justin adds, "Plus, Shiloh means peace, so... yeah... Y2K, save the whales, wear pleather, don't shave your chest, keep it real... that kind of stuff." Brothers Colin and Justin are the 2 peas that form the Shiloh pod. Finding it hard to get them to talk about anything seriously, I find I hit a chord when mentioning the close relationship they seem to have with one another. "Everything we do stems from the fact that we love hanging out with each other--whether watching hockey or sorting out new tracks. Individually I think we make good music, but the combined effect is exponential--we compliment each other in a huge way," tells Justin. "When we finally decided to really work hard together to make our first demo, we finished 8 tracks in under 2 weeks and 3 of them got signed. This really solidified what we could accomplish as a duo," added Colin. Colin DJ'd with the name Maya, retiring from DJing in '99 to return to university. He was the first west coast Canadian DJ to travel internationally, and did so on a regular basis, playing with DJs that form a who's who list of the profession. At the peak and end of his career, Maya was getting equal billing with the likes of Danny Howells, Max Graham, Blu Peter, Anne Savage, Christopher Lawrence, Taucher, Smokin' Joe, Jan Driver etc. and received mention in DJ magazine, Muzik, and a full page write-up in M8 magazine. Colin has DJ'd at some of the most coveted and high profile clubs and parties like Ireland's number one club-the Boom Boom Room, Germany's top club at the time--Proto X, and headlined M8 magazine's 1-year club-night anniversary; all to excellent reviews and has held numerous residencies--at one time co-resident with Max Graham for Sweet, one of North America's hottest promoters for many years. No stranger to radio, Colin DJ'd in a featured prime-time spot on the largest German speaking radio station in the world--HR3. Though not currently active as a DJ, he has never stopped to pursue his real love of producing music--something he started in 1995. When asked why Colin ceased and desisted from all professional turnings of vinyl he cites, "late hours and a really crappy health plan" as his reasons. Before Justin started producing with brother, Colin, he had already become respected in dance music circles on his own merit. He started out producing tracks with Propellerheads' cult software, Rebirth, in 1996. He quickly became one of the most recognized Rebirth artists in the world, often a beta tester for leading music software products. "I'm so stoked to be making tracks for myself now instead of workin' for da man!" said Justin--referring to working and remixing for labels as a producer for hire. More than a young electronic music prodigy Justin is also an accomplished musician and vocalist, travelling around North America with various bands. "While there are a lot of places producing good music, we both really see that the UK is to dance music what New York-Broadway--is to theatre... if we can make it there we'll make it anywhere," Justin says kicking up a leg chorus-line style. "We'll see what the next year holds. We'll be happy as long as at the end of it we're still making tracks together--even if our only audience is Colin's cat... -sniffle-... touching moment." Listening to Shiloh's stuff in the cue for release this year I was thinking that Colin has one lucky cat and I can't help but feeling confident that felines all over the world will be lending an enthusiastic ear to their brilliant sound. Just like Mr. Diamond's song tells, Shiloh is here to stay. From Transmission - February 2003

    Press Reviews
As a DJ, Colin has had write-ups in Dj Magazine, Muzik, and a full page in M8, to name the more notable ones. With the pre-release of their first track on Baroque's daughter label, Electrofly, the amount of press Shiloh has been getting has been compounding daily with favourable mentions in Dj Magazine, Holland's Expander, Progressive Sounds and Hooj.com to name a few. Their single, "Will You Ever Come Around", is remixed by Infusion and Gwill Morris and currently sits atop some very influencial hype and buzz charts, getting play from the biggies.
