Artist History
Heidi Beyer, long time L.A. area resident,
was born and raised in the fertile musical
environs of New York City. Heidi has always
been interested in music. More fortuitous
for Heidi was a visit, at the age of 10, to
a music store on Long Island where she picked
up her first guitar. Strumming the strings of
that guitar told her what she wasto do in this
life and she has been at it ever since. Heidi
Beyer is a singer, a song-writer, and a capable
producer of her own work, and given the adept
crew of musicians she has gathered on the first
CD, she has demonstrated that she is a superb
team-player. |

Press Reviews
Heidi Beyer's collection of five heart-felt songs herald the
arrival of a new singer-songwriter on the L.A. music scene whose take on the ups and down of
life are particularly touching. Her topic in this series of songs is one of longing for the connectedness
that only comes with the union of two kindred spirits. But for Beyer, love,
in each of these well-recorded, well-engineered ballads,
clearly transcends the purely physical; love is the destination of
all our wanderings. Particulary excellent here is the catchy "I Am Not Holding Back" with its wistful Suzanne Vega-like
lyricism and simple chord progressions that underscores the beautiful
text of "Take This Fragile Heart". And Beyer's literary pedigree clearly shines in her song "From the Inside Out", a lament
for the life of an unhappy, well-to-do woman reminiscent of the hero
of E.A. Robinson's famous poem, "Richard Cory". No one is writing music like this.
These songs are well-thought through, yet they've lost none
of their polish. We need to see more of this woman's work.
