Artist History
No History, we're like in the Matrix or something. But here's our take on this MP3 shit. I think some are forgetting that the music industry is an INDUSTRY. That means it is run to make money. Which also means that those in power (i.e. radio stations, record companies) are there because of money and the artist is on the bottom of the totem pole, just under the consumer. Your song is not a gift from God, it's a PRODUCT, which must move faster than the next product to last. Great artists/writers/painters have died in obscurity, but the public remembers others (let's use Jim Morrison for an example) because somebody with alot of advertising money PAID for us to be able to buy Doors CDs, Posters, Books, etc; and PAID to get them on radio 30 years ago. Important music doesn't become popular, popular music becomes important. Influence = affluence. Foo. As Mr. T would say. The only way a revolution will happen is if the public QUITS buying major label music bathwash and invests in more interesting music. And that will only happen when great bands quit signing up for record deals that only make the company money. A lot of independent music isn't very professional -- and most major label music isn't very interesting. SUPPORT GREAT MUSIC. Oh yeah, and download our crazy song at least three time a week. :) |
