Artist History - -- --- -- - [phase 1] improvisations for the purpose of sampling & looping - -- [phase 2] transfer of tapes to cakewalk for editing, mixing, production, & D2 is sampled for other bands/projects, etc... -- --- [phase 3] (hi-fi) trans-atlantic collaborations, re-mixing, & cyber expansion --- -- [phase 4] digital improvisations - -- --- ---- ----- ------ ------- initially, we got together in florida to create short sequences and samples for naVas' animations and web pages. we went over to my house; i plugged in my electric guitar and he sat down at the drums. i asked naVas 'what do you want to play?'; he responded 'the ocean. make it sound like you're in the depths of the sea.'!!! so, i pressed [Record] on the tape player before we played the 1st note. this was the 1st of many atmospheric improvisations... we had the opportunity to create quite a bit of 'music' during the next 5-6 months. then nAVAs moved back to Spain for 3 years, so we used cyber-space to collaborate and let the world listen to our music (it's funny to think that D2 is listened to everyday on the net, and we have always been a studio band). nAvAs now lives in miami beach; we are now 3 hrs apart & in the same time zone; thus begins [phase 4] of D2... - db
