Artist History
Formed in New York City by Jed Davis and Sean Gould in early 1997. Recorded first album, "Physics," that year, but shelved it (until now) in favor of the more electronic 1998 release "Blowing Shit Up.""Physics" circulated as a crude bootleg, gaining legendary status among Collider fans. Several of its songs have been covered by other artists, despite never being formally released (most notably, Daniel Johnston's remake of "Enlightenment.") Collider is currently working on their next album with producer T. Erdelyi (Ramones, Replacements). |

Press Reviews
"Are they punk-tronica? Or tech & roll? Or beatcore, mixmetal, hip-hopabilly, ambient rawk? Maybe ... with the caveat that descriptions of uncharted territories like those identified by these songs will always be hamstrung by the limitations of a lexicon built around a familiar musical topography ... This is good shit indeed." - J. Eric Smith, Metroland."Taking punk and electronic music in one hand, and heavy metal and rock in the other, Collider's debut, Blowing Shit Up, then proceeds to smash the genres together, leaving any semblance of political correctness or sanity far behind ... unerring and honest ... The surprisingly good-natured final track lends sober perspective to this excellent album." - Amy Frushour Kelly, The Island Ear. |
