Artist History
Born in the Yakima Delta to a culture of bass fishing and gun racks, Big Bad Tough Guy is a band almost completely devoid of talent. Paul, Joe, and the Meyer-man, three men driven by delusions of grandeur, visions of beach condominiums, throngs of half-clad women and relentless boredom with one universal message: "Work Blows!"
Like Bob Dylan, John Prine, Lou Reed before them Big Bad Tough Guy is not really about music. This is a band dedicated to writing tough honest lyrics about the fringes of America. Drawing on vivid imagery, life experience and a lot of beer, Big Bad Tough Guy paints a powerful picture of post college stress syndrome ("What the hell am I going to do now?")
The band formed in April 1994 as a proposition:
"If I had a band, I'd call it Big Bad Tough Guy." - E. Meyer
Two days later the smash hit My old dog was born. The band has never looked back. Their first Album, Elvis Blows!, combined incompetent guitar playing with scathing social and political commentary. This album defined the bands wreckless style (and put us in the hole nearly $1,000.)
