Artist History
1892: no members were born yet 1969: summer of love 1992: summer of tofu 2069: ..?
Throughout the band's history society was entranced and quite possibly forever marred by the live performances of Tofu Rogue, which were pretty few in order to protect the well-being of many. Much more often were controlled releases of "peel sessions," or live recordings of practices or impromtu appearances.
The premiere recordings to my knowledge fell under the codename DUH as spoken by microscopic life. This included early versions of our favorites like Barefoot in the Jungle; covers were Mother of a Girl (Violent Femmes) and Backwards Dog (Soup Dragons). It was prepared in part for a preliminary to our first public appearance, at Mega Music Mania III. It also included a grunge (and somewhat profane) remix of the theme from The Brady Bunch.
The only known demo recording released to the discerning ear was commonly entitled Sponge Revolt. It was in part mixed live by Ron Tongue at the recording studio / dining room of José and in part in a studio in the SUNY Cortland Fine Arts building, 1992.
