Artist description
No Flowers have existed at the fringes of the Perth music scene since 1992 and have produced an eclectic collection of recordings. The common thread of all these releases is the No Flowers sound. Not easily pigeonholed or defined, the sound is warm guitars, expressive rhythms and melody. Fueled by the search for the perfect song. Driven by a simple desire to make good music. |

Artist History
In the early 90s two teenaged boys struck up a musical partnership inspired by their high school musical heroes (The Smiths, The Church, The Cure and The Saints) and the of course the local music scensters (The Triffids, The Bamboo's, The Stems and The Scientists). Deciding the was way too many band names starting with The, for a name they settled upon No Flowers No Wedding Dress. That musical partnership has seen out the 90’s, and has seen the band perform countless gigs and build an impressive catalogue of music and achievements. The No Flowers gig roster has included many other respected Australian bands such as Ammonia, The Black Eyed Susans, Weddings Parties Anything, The Falling Joys, The Clouds, The Jackson Code, The Mark Of Cain, Ice-cream Hands, Died Pretty and Ed Kuepper. Their gig credits also include festivals and events like In The Pines for RTR FM radio, Artrage, The West Australian Music Industry (WAM) Awards, Bedtime Beats You Brainless compilation launch and their own brainchild The West Australian Original Showcase. No Flowers continue to play live in and around Perth, and commit themselves to perfecting a sense of ambience and power in their live performances. vital to maintaining a level of excellence.... and a good social life. |
