Artist description Mark Van Cleave is one of today's most in demand lead trumpet players. Mark has appeared with The Temptations, The Four Tops, The O'Jays, Perry Como, Mel Torme, Robert Goulet, Bobby Vinton, Guy Lombardo, etc. He has also appeared as soloist at many high school and college jazz festivals.His talents range from playing lead trumpet and recreating Cat Anderson and Maynard Ferguson solos with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra in Washington D.C. and leading his own ten piece band Cosmos, to scoring and conducting for several of the biggest traveling shows in the U.S., Canada, and Japan. Most recently, Mark was musical director and solo trumpet for Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
