Artist description
A young man with influences as wide ranging as Roni Size, Seal and Tower of Power, Jinadu's innovative fusion of melodic vocals and gritty urban beats provide a new sound for a 21st century generation of intelligent music listeners. If you're still not seeing the sound, then venture outside of unchallenging wallpaper and redecorate your house with a sound so innovative and pure you'll be wondering why you didn't redecorate earlier. Jinadu, an Anglo-African, owes his musical influences to a checkered background. His father, a preacher from Nigeria, and a white mother from England provide the cultural mix that influences his music from within. This is part of Jinadu's makeup. |

Artist History
Since moving to London, Jinadu has sung and performed with artists such as Diana Ross, Gary Barlow and tThe Light House Family, and has recently completed a US tour with Rovert Palmer. As "Jinadu", he has become a fully-fledged solo artist, kicking up a storm with the recent launch of his EP, "Manouevre" at London's prestigious Borderline. He produces an original and exciting combination of 70's funk and 90's urban beat culture, drawing inspiration from the past but looking firmly to the future. Ever present throughout the music is his emphasis on strong vocal emlody and emotive lyrics displaying a raw vulnerability juxtaposed with an aggressive delivery. |

Simon Jinadu - Simon was introduced into music as a child, having been classically trained on piano since the age of 8. In his early teens he felt the need to break free from the limitations of written music and began to experiment with inprovisation and writing his own tunes. It was at this time that he developed a passion for keybaords, programming and "playing the knackered drum set at school", having been inspired by the Paul Hardcastle track "19".Simon went on to study Popular Music and Jaxx at Salford, Manchester. Whilst at college, he gained a reputation more as a singer and frontman thatn a keyboard player and was subsequently asked to front severla bands, including top Manchester band, "Pocker Central", a levithian 12 piece Tower of Power tribute band. It was on the back of this that Simon was invited to sing and write with Lisa Stansfield producer/co-writer Andy Morris, which he did for 8 months until he decided to move down to London. |
