Artist description
Singer-songwriter Dan Layman-Kennedy is a coffeehouse troubadour with allegiances to both contemporary and more traditional music, the result of which is a sound and style entirely his own. His admirers have compared him favorably to artists as diverse as Donovan, Shawn Mullins and Michael Stipe, but his voice, ultimately, is uniquely his. Perhaps his great strength is that he always has something to say, even if he isn't positive just what it is; backed by simple, catchy chord structures on acoustic guitar, it's the dense poetry of his lyrics that makes his songs and his performances stand apart. |
