Artist History Stradlater was originally formed 5 years ago under the name steaming meatwith members Mike Carlo, Tim Cisario, and Will S. They were mainly a punkband, and began writing songs in 1997. In spring of 1999, Ben Arendsen wasadded on as a second guitarist, opening up other avenues that the band wished to explore, and began writing songs for what would eventually become the album Paper Stars. In the summer of 1999, Will left the band, and was replaced by Marisa Bardach. The band continued writing, and was playing some small shows on long island. Marisa's time in the band had to be brief however, because she had to leave for college. Fortunately, their good friend Matt Hollywood was able to step into the drummer position and keep things flowing. Stradlater spent the summer of 2000 recording thier first album,"Paper Stars" which was recorded in Ben Arendsen's home.
