Artist History
In January 1997, SPACE PROBE TAURUS was born, but the embryo of Space Probe Taurus was formed in the summer of 1992.The band was named Snake Machine and the intention was to play hard distorted rock inspired by Monster Magnet, Mudhoney, Hawkwind etc.In March 1997 SPACE PROBE TAURUS entered the studio for a first demo ("Low On Karma...High On Speed"), The demo got some good response, and in March 1998 the second demo ("Hallucination Generation") was recorded. The song "Calling Cosmos" from ("Hallucination Generation") got noticed by american independent horror filmmaker Richard R. Anasky, and SPACE PROBE TAURUS were asked to participate with that song on the soundtrack to his upcoming movie "I Am Vengeance". The soundtrack will bereleased by the american l abel MeteorCity Records in the fall of 2000, and the movie is planned for a release in late 2000/early 2001.A third demo ("Acid Worship") was recorded in October 1998, and also from this demo a song might end up in the movie "I Am Vengeance", the track is the demo?s first song "Burnt Butterfly". The Italian label Black Widow Records got interested, and the band was asked to record a Blue Cheer cover song ("Second Time Around") for the label?s upcoming Blue Cheer tribute album ("Blue Explosion"), which wil l be released in the fall of 1999. The band was also asked to be featured on a local compilation CD-single ("Vol.2"), which was released in July 1999, with the track "Dancing Jupiter", a song which dates back to the Snake Machine days. During the summer/fall of 1999 SPACE PROBE TAURUS finalized a deal with american label SlowRide/Game Two Records to release the band?s debut 7" single. The single will be called "Insect City" and a releasedate is set to mid 2000.4 |
