Artist History Five musicians from Houston with over forty years of music experience in the SW region make up the Oilers. All members of the Oilers previously played in popular Texas acts none of which really sound anything like the Oilers. The keyboardist played bass for Sprawl - one of the most popular Texas Funk bands of the nineties. The rythmn section and the guitarist played with de Schmog, a popular quirky pop outfit. And the lead singer played with another popular Houston pop outfit, the Keenlies. All five musicians wanted to form a band that had a groove like "the Band."
