Artist description John is a new singer/songwriter on the scene. His new CD "My Own Little World" has just been released on Plantago Records and is available through his web site. His songs reflect society, love, nature, social issues, politics, religion, spirituality, New Jersey, relationships, monster truck shows and just about every other topic folk singers usually cover in a refreshing and often times humorous way. He captures the quirkiness and sensitivity of Jonathan Richman and Greg Brown in his own unique way, and like Greg and Jonathan, he doesn't go overboard.Musically, his band performs an all acoustic sound with guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass and other various sounds that are made when necessary. There is a wide range of styles from driving folk to talkin' blues, blues, mellow love songs and 50's-ish melodies. Featured are Jonathan Talbott, Chris Laliberte, Jason Knight, Robyn Brook, Bill Hill and Lee Grumman. The CD is produced by Bill Hill. John wrote all the songs.

Artist History John has been writing, playing guitar and playing live for 10 years. This CD is a result of years of people bugging him to make one. He decided to make it when he heard of people he's never met playing his songs at parties in distant states. He realized that maybe someone would actually buy his music.

That's not to say that "My Own Little World" is some kind of overly earnest exploration of Gallagher's zeitgeist. It's catchy, clever, fun, and deserves a wide audience.
