Artist History
Herm has been a emcee for many years. Ever since he was 14 years old he has been making music with his
close friend Peek. Herm & Peek started a group at the age of 14 called "the $tr8 Ballers," then changed their
group name to the "Associates" about 3 years after starting to make music. Herm and Peek changed their name once again
in 2000 when they found out that r & b crooner Sisqo had a rap group on his label by the same name "Associates." Therefore they changed their name once
more to "Kre8tive MindZ." Herm & Peek released about 4 albums all together, and are currently building up a music library to release another
independent CD (yet untitled). Herm also has many other artists he has worked with online, as well as in the flesh. Herm is the co-founder of "The UN" - his most
successful group as of yet. The UN released a single to radio "Papi Chulo" and toured the following cities: Chicago, Philly, New York, Albany, Vegas, Pittsburgh & DC with the likes of Ja Rule, Freeway, Memphis Bleek, Khia, Skillz, Slum Village, The Big Tymers, Sean Paul, 50 Cent, Truth Hurts, Cam'ron & Eve.
After recording a full length LP with The UN, entitled "UNtitled" Herm decided he wasn't ready to make music his number one
priority, and backed out of the group. The UN still perform around Pittsburgh with aspirations of making it big in the hip-hop music industry. Although Herm did make a rash decision
to leave the group, there is no bad blood between him and the group he co-founded. That bring us to now. Herm (who has released 3 independent LP's in the past, "Strive For Perfection," "UNconditional Love," and "This Is Me") is currently
hard at working, making tracks for an LP to be released sometime in the near future called "the diary of avh." This album will more than likely be a double-disc, and a farewell to releasing his music to the public.
It will be a heartfelt emotional album that will touch various issues surrounding him, and the hip-hop culture. It does seem weird that Herm is still recording, because he backed out of The UN. But now, Herm just makes music when he deems neccessary, and is in no way
trying to capatilize off of his craft. "I just be making music for me now-a-days. For real, that's why I got 40 tracks done for 'the diary' and not many cats heard them yet. I aint in no rush to release
anything because I just make music when I see fit. I do it because I love to do it, and I feel it in my bones. I will probably never make a decent living off of rap music, and I have come to terms with that. That is why I am gonna make
this my last album, a fairwell to hip-hop with the best music I see fit. That is why 'the diary' doesn't even have a release date yet. Shit, it was done, but then I had more songs, and more places I wanted to go, and a CD is only 80 minutes long. Therefore, I am thinking about going all out
and making this project a double-disc, respectfully." - Herm Dizzle (a.k.a. Vincent Lane) |
