Artist description
Our Mission: To glorify and enjoy God through His gift of music and to write music and lyrics that are both inspiring and challenging to the Body of Christ. Our desire is to encourage believers to grow and express their God-given talents for the furthering of God's Kingdom in all areas of life (including politics, education, media, business and the arts). We believe our God is very interested in the day to day endeavors of His people and that we have fallen short in fulfilling that which He has called us to do in Genesis 1:26 and Matthew 28:18 (the cultural mandate and the Great Commission). Our prayer is that the Lord will have mercy on us as a nation and as a church; that He will purify and sanctify us, His Bride; and by His grace, strengthen us to put our hand to the task of furthering His kingdom in the earth. Soli Deo Gloria. |

Artist History
Our name, Eben-haezer, is Hebrew for "stone of help" and comes from I Samuel 7:12. In 1 Samuel we are told of how the Israelites went to battle against the Philistines (chapter 4). Yet these chosen people were in sin and rebellion to God and in their presumption, believed that if they carried the Ark of the Covenant into, battle they would surely take the victory. This was not the case, however, as cod would not be used as a good-luck charm and the Israelites were sorely defeated. Some 20 years later God's prophet, Samuel, judged Israel and told them that if they would repent of their sins and put away their idols, God would deliver them from the hand of their enemies. The Israelites did so and we are told that they served the Lord only (7:4). When the Philistines heard that the Israelites were gathered they came against them in battle. The Lord then thundered against the Philistines and they were overcome by the Israelites that day. Then Samuel raised up a stone to commemorate the victory and called ifs name Eben-haezer and said, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us." |
